Holistic Media/Marketing/PR Professional

Hallema Sharif is a seasoned media, corporate and public relations professional with over 25 years of experience. She's worked in Healthcare/Pharmaceutical, Consumer/Product and Trade Marketing, Entertainment/Sports, Banking/Finance, High Tech,Tourism/Travel and Government.She’s established and maintained successful relationships with print, broadcast media professionals and key opinion leaders. She recognizes the importance of good media and public relations to help organizations gain visibility, credibility and competitive advantage. She’s researched, planned and promoted general market and multicultural grassroots campaigns, and has a great understanding for issues relevant to Diversity and Inclusion.

She's currently managing several US and Global media campaigns. In her career, she’s been a Broadcast Television  Producer, a Media and Public Relations Manager, a Press Secretary, a Consultant, a Director of Media Relations, and a media spokesperson in just about every capacity of communications.  

She’s worked for such corporations as Burson-Marsteller Global PR Firm, Black Entertainment Television, ABC News, the American Lung Association,just to name a few. Hallema has worked on projects with companies likeAstraZeneca, Merck, Colgate, the United States Marines Corps, The Home Depot, Burger King, McDonalds and many others.

Hallema is a founding member of AMightyRiver.comand is a member of several media organizations such as The Advertising Women of New York, Press Club, PRSA, the National Association of Black Journalists, past board member of the New Orleans Film and Video Commission and the New Orleans Music Commission. She served as a judge for the 2007 Annual American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI) Samter Journalism Awards. As a speaker, she's served as a panelist/keynote speaker for Medialink Worldwide (now Synaptic Digital) workshop on "Expanding Your Reach Online," The Bulldog Media Summit, The National Association of Black Journalists, Hampton University's Career   Day, and several others. She's also been quoted in several publications and featured on local and national news stations. Hallema was awarded as the 2004 Woman of the Year by City Business News and 2003 YWCA Role Model.In addition to her varied skill sets, Hallema has developed a strong rapport with the media and key opinion leaders in just about every genre. She has a clear understanding for leveraging media opportunities to garner broader awareness.

She’s been positioned as a strong media relations professional in every genre and she's directed and executed several regional, national and global media campaigns.

Hallema serves as a role model/mentor to not only several communications and marketing professionals, but to individuals interested in exploring career options. She also serves as an enlightening source for those faced with daily life changing matters. She's been told that her appreciation for humanity, encouraging spirit and acts of kindness defines her total character.
